1. Is there a person or story your team admires or looks to for inspiration?
We admire the strong teams that we’ve met in Pre-finals Workshop last year, and Discover Singapore more recently – they show us that there is so much more we can improve and learn.
2. Does your team do any activities together outside of ICPC preparation?
We take some modules in school together, and have worked together on school projects before. We also explore the city together when we go overseas for competitions.
3. At what age(s) did you begin programming?
Two of our team members began programming in high school, and one in college.
4. How did you (Coach) get involved as a coach for ICPC competitions? What year did you become involve as a coach?
I joined ICPC regionals since the second year of my University life in NUS. I joined ICPC regionals several times but never won anything.
In 2009, after almost completing my PhD, there is a coach role opening and I started to be NUS coach since then.
5. How many teams have you (Coach) brought to the World Finals?
This is the most interesting question :).
This year (2020) will be my 5th time as ICPC World Finals coach: 2010 (Ripple) + 2012 (Eternia) + 2014 (ThanQ+) + 2019 (3body2) + 2020 (3body3) so 5x ICPC World Finals coach award this year.
I attended 3 other World Finals 2015, 2016, 2018 as Regional Contest Director of ICPC Asia Singapore.
This team is bound for success at the World Finals!
