Team name: Fast_Code_Transform
Institution: Indian Institute of Technology – Kharagpur
Coach: Pawan Goyal
1. At what age(s) did you begin programming?
All of the Students started Programming after coming to College, at the age of 18-19.
2. What are your team members majoring in? How does that help them with programming?
Two of the students are majoring in Computer Science and Engineering, and one in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering. These Departments are full of programming usage and these learnings, mostly some theoretical Computer science often pops up in regular problems.
3. What do you do in a typical team practice session?
We generally Practice Team Contests on Codeforces Gym.
We also try to Upsolve problems that some other teammate found really interesting and could not find the solution on his own.
4. What type of problem do you think is the hardest, and why?
The Adhoc (observation based) problems are the hardest as the observation might not click at right time. This creates a lot of difference as who attempts that question first.
5. What’s your team’s secret for all sharing one computer efficiently?
Its Shortest Job First Scheduling with preemption allowed. In simple terms, Code the one that can be coded in the minimum time. If the PC is free, someone codes up the geometry template that will be needed in some future problem.
Congratulations to team “Fast_Code_Transform” for advancing to the ICPC World Finals!!
