Medalists St. Petersburg State University and Peking University also took top honors in Europe and Asia respectively.
In the Africa and the Middle East region, Alexandria University – Faculty of Engineering solved two problems to take top regional honors, while the University of New South Wales solved three to come in at the top of the South Pacific Region.
In Latin America, Brazil’s Instituto Militar de Engenharia solved 3 problems to top the region. New York University topped North America with a 13th place finish and 4 problems solved.
Regional winners were honored with an award from honor society UPE.
