An hour into the competition:
- Defending world champion St. Petersburg National Research University of ITMO are leading the competition with 4 problems solved.
- National Taiwan University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University trail ITMO with 3 problems solved.
- Eight (8) teams have solved 2 problems.
- Six (6) out of 11 problems have been solved by at least 1 team.
- Problem F (blue) is the most-solved problem.
The University of Maryland team became the first to solve Problem J. They received the pink balloon at 10:37 a.m. for Problem J.
By 10:40 a.m., three teams had already solved two problems: University of Warsaw, University of Tokyo and the St. Petersburg National Research University of ITMO.
At 10:41 a.m., ICPC staff awarded the first turquoise balloon for Problem C the University of Warsaw. This balloon earned the team three balloons – the most at the time.
At 10:53 a.m., the University of Singapore received the first green balloon for solving Problem H.
